Petit Point Embroidery Charting System
This program is designed to produce
charts you've ever seen !
System Requirements
PC running Windows 3.1, 3.11, or 95 with 8 meg of ram or more, a printer (preferably 360 dpi color), and good Windows image editor.
Symbols.EXE reads the contents of an 8 bit (256 color palette) bitmap, and generates a new bitmap, by replacing each pixel in the design file with a block of pixels (36 x 36) that contains a symbol associated with the palette index number, and information to create a grid. This also has the effect of making the resultant chart at least 1296 times as large (in bytes) as the original design that was read to create it. The resultant chart will be a 360 dpi image, and if printed on a 360 dpi printer, will be exactly 10 squares to the inch.
This program can even be used to convert photographic (scanned) bitmaps into cross stitch charts, given the right processing.
Download the demonstration Symbols.ZIP (file), and see for yourself.
