What's The Deal?

Are these speakers for sale?
Sure! If these are the ones you really want, and you want them right now. They happen to be set up in our living room right now, but I'll gladly pack them up and ship them to you. Actually, these speakers are meant to serve as an example of the kind of speaker system that I can design and build for you.

A newly designed system might be very similar to what you see here or may be something completely different, depending on your needs and desires for your own custom made speaker system.

Why would I want to buy Extra Stimulus speakers?
My speakers are hand made to be as good as possible. They are not made by the thousands in some factory. They are made as custom matching sets. There is no advantage in cutting corners or trying to shave a few dollars off of the cost of manufacturing these speaker systems. The most valuable aspect of my speakers is the design and, certainly, the amount of time it takes to make them. My primary motivation for making speaker systems is pride. I love to make fine things and for other people to enjoy them.

Since Extra Stimulus Speakers are hand made, you also have the opportunity to have them custom designed and finished to suit your decor, creating a one-of-a-kind home theater experience.

How do I know if they're any good?
Well, if reading about their design on this Website doesn't convince you, come and listen to them! Seriously. I live in Akron, Ohio. If you are really interested, send me an email and we'll make arrangements for your visit.

What sort of warrantee do I get if I buy an Extra Stimulus speaker system?
The aluminum cones and butyl rubber surrounds of the speakers used in Metal are very tough and extremely resistant to temperature, moisture, oxygen, and UV radiation. The capacitors in the crossovers are all 100 or 200 volt rated metal film (not electrolytic) and the coils are hand wound from heavy enameled copper motor wire.

I have learned over the past 20 years what to look for and what to avoid with regard to materials used to make speaker systems to ensure that the individual parts of the system will last many, many years and not simply fail as a result of age.

There is no reason to believe that your Extra Stimulus speaker system won't be in good working order thirty or forty years from now. But, speakers are on the receiving end of whatever you put into them. That being said...

ONE TIME ONLY, WITHIN TEN YEARS OF YOUR PURCHASE OF A SPEAKER SYSTEM MADE BY EXTRA STIMULUS INC., EXTRA STIMULUS WILL REPLACE ANY NUMBER OF DRIVERS OR CROSSOVER COMPONENTS IN THE SYSTEM AS NECESSARY TO RESTORE PROPER FUNCTION TO THE SYSTEM PROVIDED THAT THE DAMAGED PARTS ARE PRESENT AND RETURNED TO EXTRA STIMULUS AND YOU PAY THE COST OF TRANSPORTING THE SPEAKERS.

This warrantee is not intended to cover damage to speakers caused by neglect, improper use, malfunctioning electronic equipment, accidents or natural disasters. If at any time you need service to repair damage to a speaker system made by Extra Stimulus Inc., I would be glad to help you for a very reasonable fee.

After all, it is in my best interest that all of the speakers that I make stay in good working order and their owners all stay very satisfied.

If you have any questions about this or any other aspect of my involvement with speakers, please feel free to email me, James Lehman.

What is Extra Stimulus Inc. anyway?
Extra Stimulus Inc. is an Ohio based corporation owned by James Lehman and Terry Zimmerman, formed in 1996, initially for the purpose of selling local Internet access and software engineering services. AKROBIZ.COM is one of the domains that we own and sell service under.

The name Extra Stimulus actually comes from an independent record label created by James in 1984 to facilitate the release of "James Lehman 11:16:64". Our corporate charter and mission statement are written in such a way as to allow us to turn just about any creative endeavor into a commercial venture.

OK, I've read this far... what's the price?
For the complete set, that already exists, that is the obvious feature of this Website, consisting of four standing columns, a center channel, two sub woofers with glass tops, an active sub woofer crossover and power supply, $10,000 US.

A stereo pair of columns similar to those that are a part of the above set would be between $3,200 and $3,600 US, depending on the finish. A single center channel would be half of this price.

A matching pair of sub woofers for the above mentioned stereo pair would be about $2,200 to $4,000 depending on the finish, the number of woofers used and the complexity of the design. A single sub woofer would be half of this price. The price of sub woofers would include an active crossover with a power supply.
